Camelia sinensis (Tea Plant)

Pot size: 10.5cm
Why we love it: Known as a tea plant a because it’s thick glossy leaves and buds are used to produce tea. Camellias are an evergreen shrub that produce beautiful flowers in late winter/ early spring, excellent for Scottish climate as they prefer a shady space in your garden.
Best for: outside gardens in a partial to full shade area.
Easy to kill rating (1 = invincible, 5 = needs extra TLC) : 2- As these are garden plants they require less daily attention once planted, however they will do best if grown in acidic soil, in partial shade. If you don’t have acidic soil in your garden, you can make it more acidic, or grow camellias in pots. Prune as needed.
If kept in a pot ensure the soil is moist but well-drained.
