Why we love it: Dianthus belong to the same family as carnations, but are often called ‘pinks’ as the flowers are various hues of pink, red, and white. They are an easy care, and versatile flowering plant whose flowers smell of cinnamon and cloves.

Best for: outside gardens in full sun or partial shade

Easy to kill rating (1 = invincible, 5 = needs extra TLC) : 3- these can be left in pots, put in planters, or planted straight into your garden in late spring. It is important to water regularly as the soil drys ensuring that you water the base of the plant, not the buds, flowers, or stems as these are susceptible to mildew.
